Could somebody please recommend me a free good chatbot? better with voice input?
but not Google or Microsoft or Amazon etc..
I have just tried Grok 3 and it's a disaster. it lies on every step and makes things and links up. and when I say the link you provide does not exist - it tells me to double check it and to google myself 😱😂🤦

scary to think that someone will take information from there and will believe it 😱

but it's very friendly instead 😂

(the pics are just a quick example, i asked other things - facts which i know and - OMG, OMG...
and the links it gives are
kiri-aikido.fi/ - does not work and i´ve never heard about it
goo.gl/maps/KZe438hPZ8cRvUoE7 - does not show anything and such street does not exist in Kirkkonummi either
other links and stuff do not exist either
Suomen Aikidoyhdistys - what´s this??
or don´t i know something??)

guys, here is a question -
how old do you think you should be to still be able to do the strength training?
and particularly to do the arm balances or other calisthenics?

what could motivate you to workout?
(i think the fear is the strongest motivation)

what's your thoughts in general about aging and being able to workout?
- do you think you can be too old to workout or is it okay at any age?
- and what kinds of workouts at what age is ok?
- what do you think about martial arts and how good or bad they are to get fit? (i think some kinds do not work for this goal but may make you feel better mentally. also for some kinds you need to train strength and stretch additionally to be better in it)

(and.. how old do you think I am?)

join the abs party, btw !
six pack beautifies people a lot better than brilliants!! 😂😂

Is there anyone who does #iaido or #koryu #kenjutsu who would recognise the chiburi from this kata (#AikiToho by #aikido sensei #Nishio)?

I’m not sure how well the hive mind on Mastodon will work but I’ve been looking for the answer for some time. Some charts list it as a chiburi from #SuioRyu while others don’t. High ranking people from Suio Ryu didn’t recognise it. A practitioner of Aiki Toho stated error in table. But I haven’t been able to link to any other school.

Like every single philosophical aspect of aikido, Jo work emphasizes blending and redirecting the opponent’s energy instead of overpowering it.

I got my aiki weapons trio from Mr. Ahmed 🙏
Bokken, Tanto and Jo😎 come on don’t you just like saying it over and over? 🤣 Jo Jo Jo Jo, ok now I’ll jo, oh mean I’ll Go🙊🤣

This is achieved through solo forms which we call Kata and partner practice.
Now for the techniques ladies and gents, we have, as far as I have understood:
suburi which is the basic swinging exercises,
katas which I mentioned alearlier to be the pre arranged forms,
and kumijo which means partner drills or sparring.

This month’s new challenge is mastering the Jo katas in aikido.
After two sessions using this cool fancy “mache à balai” of course in aikido it’s called Jo 😎 like cool uncle Joe but this one is stiff, strong, demands a lot of strength and mastering the movements flawlessly.

So we offer this #Aikidō training for families. Essentially parents can come with their children (usually one parent, one or two children) and do some exercises together (20% Aikidō, 80% game or fitness). Compared to kids training, parents take responsibility of their children (we are not educated teachers). Compared to the training for adults, it is less demanding and more playful.

It is so fascinating to see parents interact with their children. There are parents, which are focused on learning/performing well themselves and children just follow their lead. There are parents which struggle with the exercises themselves, but keep telling their children how they are supposed to do it. And there are parents which get in the way of their children making their own experiences. It is so interesting to observe human behavior.

And of course this situation can be transferred to Aikidō camps for adult training as well. So many people give unsolicited advice. Just apply the techniques in a good manner yourself as taught by #sensei. Novices can follow your lead then. If they really need a verbal explanation, they will ask for solicited advice and it is okay to respond then.

Aikidō is about discovering yourself and making #budo experiences. Not about teaching others.

It occurred to me that rather than trying to convince #aikidoka to join the fediverse, I can try and convince the fediverse to try #aikido. So here's my pitch.

Do you have a new year resolution to try and get in shape? Do you want to try a
#MartialArt?

#Aikido is a non-competitive art of Japanese origin practiced around the world. There is a saying "aikido is for everyone". Training consists (generally) of paired practice where you and your partner work through a kata that was demonstrated by the sensei. The goal is to improve your (and your training partner's) ability, not to "win". There are (wooden) swords and short staffs and disarmament that you get to play with.

So why shouldn't you try it? The only thing I've got is that we're still in an ongoing multi-year pandemic and, unfortunately, the number of people still masking largely reflects the rest of society. If that's a deal breaker for you, you might need to wait until someone invents public health and the airborne virus is controlled through ventilation.. aikido is largely based on trying to blend with an attacker's energy and redirect it to control the situation. It is hard to do without a partner.

If you can, I still think you should try a class (or watch one) at your local dojo. If your idea of martial arts comes from Hollywood or you think there's inherent competition in the concept you might be surprised. I'm sure there are bad dojos, but I haven't seen many. Most have a warm and welcoming atmosphere and it's a great way to get in shape.

I enjoy the honest #Aikido discussions here at #mastodon. Hence I am asking for feedback for an open question in my mind now:

If Tori & Uke are in face-to-face stance and Uke's right hand grabs Tori's right wrist… what do you call this setting?

(A) Aihanmi
(B) Kôsa

Context: Because in Austria we imply the feet to be in the same position and thus call it (A); a name referring to the stance. In Kobe/Japan we called it (B) as (A) would refer to the feet and (B) refers only to the grab.

I would like to understand preferences to experience something outside my bubble.

Update: I asked about Gyakuhanmi, but Kôsa needs to be compared to Aihanmi. I screwed up the question first.
