I'm a #PhD candidate in #Linguistics researching Taiwanese (臺灣本土語言) language vitality and revitalisation. Currently focusing on #Tâigí ( #台語 #台語文 ), Taiwan literature creation, and language ideology.
I speak a few #languages (listed in my profile), and trying to relearn my personal #HeritageLanguage (s) which I lost as I grew up.
Would love to connect with others who are involved with similar interests.

@dodi I love all kinds of linguistics. Which languages are you trying to reconnect with? I have Greek in my heritage but I don't speak it.
@Loukas namely Hungarian! I grew up mostly outside of a Hungarian language environment, and have been slowly reclaiming my skills over the last few years. Been trying to learn Yiddish too since it was a language my family once spoke but lost eventually.
@dodi oof that must be even harder than Greek.
When I was training to be an English teacher they had one lesson where all we student teachers had to undergo a lesson in a foreign language, so we'd understand how it feels for our students who have zero English.
After a while we started to understand what the teacher meant, although she seemed to be speaking Alien. Then they revealed: it had been Hungarian.
@Loukas haha oh goodness! That must have been a great experience!
@dodi Yes it really was:)
Currently the only Hungarian I encounter is when it's shouted at me by bandits in Kingdom Come Deliverance.
